Introduction. Pisani has its origins in the Italian company of the same name founded some 80 years ago. The British company has expanded considerably until it now has three depots all with large, well-appointed showrooms where the specifier can select an extensive range of marble and stone imported from some 40 countries. Pisani have an accumulated experience of the use of stone in the construction industry which is at the disposal of the specifier. The facilities offered to the specifier by Pisani make it considerably easier and very much cheaper to select stone at one of their showrooms than to visit Italy or any of the other countries of origin. Pisani have their own inspectors who visit quarries abroad to check quality of stone and continuity of supply. Pisani are official suppliers to such prestigious establishments as Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and Windsor Castle. The company follows an ecologically friendly approach to business and is restoring areas of its Matlock site to lake and woodland. Principal stones offered - each of which is described separately below - are: Marble, Limestone, Sandstone, Granite and Slate.
