Concert Tours Consultant
Permanent,Description
Employer: Rayburn Tours Ltd
Position: Concert Tours ConsultantStart Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Permanent full time position
VACANCY DETAILS & HOURS
We have an exciting opportunity for two Concert Tours Consultants to join our Concert Tours Department. After initial training, the successful candidates will be responsible for selling concert tours to a variety of destinations. The main duties are:
Taking enquiries from clients over the phone and face to face.
Advising clients of the best solutions to their requirements.
Liaising and negotiating with airlines, hotels and other suppliers.
Compiling profitable and attractive quotations for clients and ensuring regular contact is maintained through to sale.
Carrying out sales visits / presentations to the Party Leader and / or group; these may include face-to-face meetings, parents evenings or presenting to an evening rehearsal.
Researching and undertaking concert venue and accommodation inspection trips (in the UK and overseas) where appropriate.
Assisting in developing tours to new destinations and occasionally accompanying groups on tour.
This position is a full time role. Office hours are 37 ½ hrs per working week, Monday to Friday. The company operates a Flexible Working Programme for all full time staff, which allows staff to choose on a weekly basis the band they would like to work, subject to the office being manned between 08.00 and 17.30.
The pattern of the tours that we sell and operate, as a general rule, fluctuates seasonally and consequently there will be peak periods throughout the year when additional hours have to be worked in order to complete the workload. We also operate an emergency telephone that is covered by staff on a rotational basis during the time that our groups are on tour. You would not be expected to have responsibility of the emergency telephone until full training had been given.
Due to this role being a sales position it is expected that the successful candidate will carry out regular client visits and therefore will be expected to travel around the country. Many of these visits will be carried out in the evening and therefore flexibility is required.
There will also be opportunities to travel to the destinations that we offer to our groups and this could be undertaken in several ways: an inspection trip enables staff to visit new or existing locations to source and inspect accommodation, transport and excursions in order to ascertain their suitability; a familiarization trip would allow staff to see the destinations that we currently feature this would give first hand knowledge and enhance job performance especially during discussions with clients; an observer trip is similar to a familiarization trip but is done by accompanying a group during their tour; finally, a courier trip is also travelling with a group whilst offering the added service of translation and/or assistance with required arrangements and possible problems. The daily hours which you may work on any of these visits may well be in excess of a normal office working day of 7.5 hours. However, we consider that the benefits of travelling (with all work, travel and subsistence expenses paid) to our destinations will provide staff with experiences and opportunities that will by far outweigh any additional hours that may have to be worked.
