Description

Targeted Intervention Practitioner (Children with Disabilities)

Permanent, Part Time (22.5 hrs per week)

Scale 6, Salary £23,398 - £24,964 pro rata

Rutland is one of the best places in the country to live, learn, work, play and visit. We may be the smallest Unitary Authority in England, but we can offer fantastic opportunities to make a real difference to the lives of the residents in our local community. This is your chance to become part of a great team, delivering great services throughout the County.

Rutland County Council provides a range of services and activities to help improve the life chances for children and their families and we are looking to recruit a Targeted Intervention Practitioner to support Children with Disabilities and their families.

You will work with families who have complex needs to help turn their lives around and enable them to maintain sustained change. You will have a proven background of completing assessment of risk and needs with families and being successful in enabling families to find solutions to long term issues. You will support the Early Help and Safeguarding agenda for Children with Disabilities including the Aiming High for Disabled Children, the Changing Lives and the Children’s Centre programmes.

Applicants will need to hold a minimum Level 3 Qualification in a relevant field in Early Years, Health or Social Care. You will need excellent communication skills and tenacity when working with children and adults, a strong understanding and experience of working within professional boundaries with families. A full UK driving licence is essential.

You must share our commitment to working collaboratively with families, building on their strengths whilst keeping a focus on the needs of children. You will need to work flexibly, outside of normal working hours, when families need support.

You must have relevant experience of working with children with disabilities and their families and the ability to work independently.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We act as ‘One Council’ in all we do, with each of us working together in the most effective way to meet the needs of our customers every day – if you share this ethos then we very much want to hear from you.

Please visit our website for a full Job Description. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Darrell Griffin (Service Manager) 01572 758228 or Michelle Jackson (Senior Practitioner – Early Help) on 01572 758313.
