Technical Consultant (Field based)

£25 – 30k per annum + Car (VW Golf) + Benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Consultant to provide technical solutions and advice to IT infrastructure business clients for one of the UK’s fastest growing IT support organisations. Providing support from the Nottingham regional office, you will predominantly be field based and responsible for visiting client sites in the Midlands, so must have excellent client communication and influencing skills to support your technical expertise.

This role may suit an MCITP qualified individual looking to build on at least 5 years experience in client facing IT role, perhaps in 2nd/3rd line support or in an Engineering capacity, who wishes to develop their IT consultancy and management skills. Applicants who have experience working for an outsourcing provider and adapting to differing organisational cultures are particularly welcomed.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage changing client requirement professionally and efficiently.

You must have experience supporting and configuring Microsoft server products and a thorough understanding of VMWare, TCP/IP, WAN & LAN setup.

Knowledge of Watchguard Firewalls, Symantec Backup Exec, Sophos AV and Cloud would be advantageous.

This role will involve UK travel, so a full driving license is essential.
