We are currently seeking a chemistry graduate to fill a position working out of the Derby & Hucknall Laboratories

 The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for practical analytical chemistry and pay attention to detail.  They will need to be able to work to a high standard of health and safety and quality in a fully auditable environment. The laboratories are sited within our customer facilities and are well equipped with modern equipment.  A range of analytical techniques are used including, but not limited to, automated potentiometric titration, ion chromatography, ICP,  and GC-MS. Full training will be given in the required techniques. The post holder may be required to work independently collecting processing solutions from within an engineering facility and testing them for compliance.

 The post holder will be required to work on two different sites in the Derby/Notts area and should hold current driving licence and ideally have access to their own transport.  This position is a responsible and interesting one for the right person, who will be able to communicate at all levels and work confidently and independently.

Preferred qualities and competencies: 

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in analytical chemistry or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• A natural aptitude for customer focus.
• Knowledge of quality requirements for an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory would be advantageous.
• Flexibility that may require weekend, shift or out of hours cover.
